Great Oak Forge is a small, family-run blacksmith based at Court House Farm in Brereton, near Congleton, founded in 2014. The forge takes on bespoke metalwork commissions and restoration projects, alongside mobile welding work carried out off-site. Alongside commissioned work, the business runs blacksmithing experience days for the public, covering introductory forging, axe making, knife making, Damascus-pattern knife making, tool making and seasonal courses such as Christmas decoration forging. All ironwork is made on the premises rather than bought in and finished, and visitors on course days can watch pieces being forged from raw steel. The business also supplies decorative ironwork for events. Great Oak Forge operates from a single workshop unit rather than multiple sites, and bookings for courses and commissions are handled directly by the smiths themselves.
