ChesterBoat runs sightseeing cruises on the River Dee from the Boating Station on Souters Lane in The Groves, Chester. Half-hour city cruises sail roughly hourly from around 11am to 4 or 5pm, more frequently at weekends and during school holidays, while a two-hour Iron Bridge cruise runs on selected dates between April and October. The business also puts on Party Nights Afloat and Fish and Chip Friday cruises, and hires out picnic boats for private trips on the river. It is a family-run operation: managing director Brian Clarke began as a boat skipper on the Dee in 1979 and bought the business in 2003. ChesterBoat operates from a single mooring point in Chester rather than multiple locations, and remains one of the longest-established boat operators on the river.
