Art in Chesterby Chloe Augusta

Chloe Augusta teaches pottery and painting from a studio on the Barrowmore Estate at Great Barrow, ten minutes outside Chester, having set up her own classes in 2016 after years as a school art teacher. She studied fine art in Plymouth and Oaxaca before training at Chester College, and was first taught ceramics by her grandfather, a potter; his vintage pottery wheel still stands in the studio for students to use. Sessions run as two-hour wheel-throwing workshops for one to four people, alongside beginner courses and private tuition, with evening and weekend slots aimed at people trying clay for the first time. A second studio at Parkgate hosts painting and drawing classes. Spaces book up quickly around holidays, so Chloe recommends contacting her directly ahead of a visit.
