Hotel Tresanton

Olga Polizzi bought the old yachtsmen's club above St Mawes harbour in 1997 and spent two years on the restoration before reopening it; nearly three decades on, the company's board is still entirely family. Thirty rooms, every one different and all with sea views, spread through a cluster of buildings — Upper and Little Tresanton, the Nook, Rock Cottage — and the hotel keeps Pinuccia, a 1939 Baglietto-built racing yacht, for guests to sail. It is one of three Polizzi Collection houses, with Endsleigh in Devon and the Star at Alfriston, each designed individually rather than pressed into a brand. A Michelin Key in 2025; bathrooms, sitting room and bar renewed through the winter refurbishment of early 2026.
