Ice Nine

Ice Nine has traded from Goose Gate, on the border of Hockley and the Lace Market, since 1979, making it one of the longer-standing independent shops in the area. The stock mixes silver and alternative jewellery, incense, alternative clothing and gifts with a vinyl records section covering rock, metal and alternative genres. The shop has kept its original alternative-scene identity through decades of change on the street around it, with till staff who know the regulars by name. It operates from a single Nottingham premises with no other branches. Opening hours run Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5:30pm, closed Sundays. It remains a fixture for Nottingham's alternative and rock subculture alongside newer arrivals in the area.
