Jordan's Home Bakery has traded from 169 Newtownards Road in east Belfast since 1905, one of the longest-running family bakeries still operating in the city. Everything sold is baked on the premises using traditional recipes, including soda bread, potato bread, fruit cakes, pies and sausage rolls that have built a following well beyond the immediate area. The counter opens for three sessions a week, Thursday and Friday mornings and Saturday morning, and regularly sells out before the advertised closing time. Ownership has stayed within the same family across more than a century of trading on the Newtownards Road, one of east Belfast's older shopping streets. Belfast City Council awarded the bakery a food hygiene rating of 4 (Good) in September 2025. Jordan's continues to operate as a traditional home bakery rather than a café, with no seating and a focus on baked goods sold for takeaway.
