Kingsgate Furniture

Kingsgate Furniture is a family-run upholstery manufacturer that has hand-made leather furniture at its own factory in Broadstairs since the company's incorporation in February 1985. Based at Unit 4 of the Oakwood Industrial Estate on Dane Valley Road, the workshop specialises in deep-buttoned leather Chesterfield sofas and chairs, along with tub, club and wing chairs, built up frame by frame on the premises rather than assembled from bought-in parts. Every piece carries a ten-year guarantee on the frame and a two-year guarantee on other materials, and the firm supplies both private customers and trade buyers in Britain and overseas. It is listed as a member of the Made in Britain scheme, which verifies UK manufacture. The factory showroom is open to the public Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4pm, with weekend viewings by appointment. Kingsgate has remained in continuous production from the same Broadstairs site for four decades.
