Lyonshall Nurseries &Garden Centre

Lyonshall Nurseries has grown bedding and seasonal plants on its site outside Kington for around fifteen years, trading today as a family business under grower Simon and a small team. The nursery specialises in pelargoniums, fuchsias, pansies and violas, growing its own bedding packs, basket and container plants and ready-made hanging baskets on site rather than buying in finished stock, and has won gold medals for its geraniums at the Royal Welsh Show. The garden centre alongside the growing houses sells trees, shrubs, herbs, roses, climbers, bulbs, houseplants and vegetable plants, plus garden furniture, tools, compost and pet supplies, with staff giving planting advice drawn from the growing side of the business. It sits in the village of Lyonshall, a short distance from Kington in west Herefordshire close to the Welsh border. The nursery is open seven days a week, with shorter Sunday hours than the rest of the week.
