North Coast Sea Tours runs wildlife and sightseeing boat trips from Lochinver marina aboard the Julie-Ann, a 10-metre twin-engined catamaran built by South Cat that carries up to twelve passengers. Owner and skipper Tony Macrae grew up on the shores of Lochinver and has more than forty years of maritime experience, including fishing, trawling and mooring work along the Scottish coast. Trips run several times daily between April and October, taking in the mountains of Suilven, Canisp and Quinag from the water, along with seals hauled out around the islands of Soyea and Cleit and regular sightings of porpoises, dolphins and minke whales. The company also offers sunset cruises, sea angling charters and private hire. It operates a single vessel from Lochinver and has no other bases or branches, distinguishing it from larger operators working the same stretch of coast.
