Oakgate Nursery & Garden Centre has traded from its site at Ellerdine, on the northern edge of Telford and Wrekin, since 1986. The family-run nursery grows and sells bedding plants, shrubs, trees and seasonal stock alongside a tea room serving breakfasts, light lunches and Sunday roasts. Visitors can walk the open gardens attached to the centre before or after buying plants, and a gift shop stocks cards, homeware and outdoor accessories. The business has stayed under the same ownership since opening and continues to operate as a single site rather than part of a larger group, distinguishing it from the garden centre chains closer to Telford town centre. Staff give plant advice on request, and the centre issues gift vouchers redeemable in both the nursery and the tea room. It draws custom from Telford, Shrewsbury and surrounding villages for its range of stock and its seasonal bedding-plant displays each spring.
