One Wall Studio operates from One Fox Lane, a converted industrial building in Adamsdown that also houses a co-working hub. Potter Jack Welbourne has based his wheel-thrown tableware practice there since 2016, and since 2022 has been joined by Hamish Symonds, a potter working in the slipware tradition, to run the teaching programme. Classes range from one-off taster sessions to six-week courses in throwing and hand-building, with a two-and-a-half-hour introductory session covering basic wheel technique and guiding beginners through making a bowl and a cylinder shape. Refreshments are included during sessions. The studio favours a slower, more attentive approach to teaching than larger pottery chains, giving each stage of the process time. Pieces made in taster sessions are not fired or kept, since the class is designed purely to introduce the wheel.
