Penylan Pantry

Penylan Pantry is a single corner-shop deli and café opened in December 2013 by Mel and Jo on the corner of Kimberley Road and Blenheim Road in Penylan. The shop stocks Welsh and British produce from small suppliers, alongside homemade cakes, savouries and a bulk-refill section for oats, rice and olive oil intended to cut down on packaging. A short café menu of lunches and cooked breakfasts is served alongside the deli counter. The business has been runner-up in the Observer Food Awards Wales, in categories including Best Ethical Retailer and Best Independent Retailer, and won a Cardiff Life award for Best Café. More than a decade after opening, it remains a single, independently run shop rather than part of any wider group.
