Outlier is Steven Turner's café, bakery, restaurant and gallery, opened in 2022 in his former textile studio near the Barras in Glasgow's East End. It runs as a community interest company — a business structured to put its purpose ahead of profit — and does a bit of everything well: coffee and baking by day, a serious kitchen, and changing art on the walls. It has drawn national notice as one of the best new places to eat in the city without ever feeling like it is trying to be.
