Gillian Farrell, a ceramics artist originally from Belfast who studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art, runs this pottery studio on Southeastern Road, teaching alongside her own practice at The King's School in Canterbury. Classes cover both hand-building and wheel-throwing, with regular group sessions for adults and children as well as one-to-one tuition for those wanting more focused instruction. Farrell's own work favours one-off thrown and hand-built pieces, layering colour and using gestural marks rather than uniform glazes. Outside class times, the studio and its kiln are available to hire for more experienced potters working on their own pieces. Farrell has also taught community groups and at Clayspace in Margate before opening this studio.
