Rumwell Farm Shop stands on the A38 between Taunton and Wellington, on land farmed by the Mitchell family, who began selling potatoes and free-range eggs from a roadside stall before converting a former potato store into the present shop. The 600-acre farm rears pigs and Aberdeen Angus cattle and grows crops to feed them, supplying the on-site butchery directly. Inside, separate counters cover a delicatessen, bakery, jam kitchen, gluten-free kitchen and food-to-go service, alongside a wine cellar and gift room. A café serves food from the same kitchens. The shop also runs a children's play area and an events space, the Rumwell Orchard, used for markets and functions. David and Anne Mitchell established the business and it remains family run, trading daily with the café keeping slightly shorter Sunday hours than the shop.
