Skylark Garden Centre occupies a site on Manea Road at Wimblington, on the edge of March, and has grown since Edward Gowler founded it in 2003 into one of the larger garden centres in the Fens. Alongside plants, shrubs and trees, the centre stocks gifts, bird care products, tools and animal feeds, and remains family run under the Gowler family. Cafe Skylark, on site, serves food from local suppliers to visitors browsing the plant areas or passing through on a day out. In late summer and autumn the centre opens a maize maze and funyard, seasonal attractions that draw families from across Cambridgeshire and into Norfolk. The business has expanded from its original nursery stock into a broader destination while keeping single-site, family ownership, distinguishing it from the corporate garden centre chains operating elsewhere in the region.
