Sonny Stores

Sonny Stores opened in September 2020 in a former corner shop in Southville, the second act of a business that started that spring as a lockdown pizza delivery service called The Lockdown Pizza Company. Owner Mary Glynn runs front of house while her husband, chef Pegs Quinn, previously of the River Café in London, cooks a short menu that changes with the seasons. The dining room keeps the shop's original proportions, with terrazzo flooring and a sunflower painted over the door rather than a full refit, and a decked area at the front takes dogs as well as diners. A hatch at the side of the building still sells pizza and other takeaway food across the counter on Thursdays to Saturdays, a nod to how the business began. Lunch runs Thursday to Sunday, dinner Tuesday to Saturday.
