Studio Twenty Three occupies 26 Upper Water Street in Newry, a working art studio founded in 2019 by director Frankie Bannon. The studio runs a rolling programme of classes rather than drop-in retail, including acrylic pour and paint-and-sip sessions for adults, after-school art clubs for children and teenagers, and pottery sessions branded Ceramic Sundays that cover hand-building and glazing. Group bookings cover hen parties, birthdays and corporate team events, and the studio also delivers outreach sessions for schools, community groups, charities and a local hospice. Materials, aprons and firing of any ceramic pieces are included in the class price, with pieces collected on a later date once glazed work has been through the kiln. Sessions run most evenings and at weekends.
