First and Last Bar occupies a building on Warrenpoint's Square first built in the 1850s to serve passengers using the town's newly opened railway, when it traded as Charlie Lavery's pub. Brendan Fegan took over the premises in 1963 and renamed it the First and Last, and the bar has traded under that name from the same address since. Today it operates as a family-run bar and lounge, with live music every weekend and a traditional Irish session on Monday nights, plus widescreen coverage of Gaelic football, hurling, soccer, rugby and horse racing. The bar remains a single, independently run premises on the Square rather than part of any wider group, a short walk from Warrenpoint's promenade and beach.
