John and Liz let two shepherd's huts from Lockstone Bottom Barn at Cherington, a short drive from Tetbury. The Hare Hut was bought in 2005 and restored by local craftsmen; the Wild Meadow Hut was built more recently in the same traditional style. Both come with a wood-burning stove and an outdoor fire pit rather than central heating. Each hut sleeps two, sits in its own private meadow on organic, chemical-free ground, and has an en-suite hot shower and a composting toilet instead of mains drainage. Liz works as a textile designer in Stroud, which shows in the furnishing choices inside each hut. The huts open March to October only, require a two-night minimum stay, and have collected more than eighty five-star reviews on Airbnb, where the huts hold superhost status.
