The Boat Inn stands on the bank of the River Severn in Jackfield, a riverside building dating from around 1740 that once served bargemen working the Severn trade. Run by Mario and Lisa, it keeps a flood gauge marked on its door recording past winter water levels, and hosts regular Irish and folk music sessions in the bar.
