The Swan has stood on Tarporley's High Street since the 16th century, once serving as a stopping point on the coaching route between London and Chester. Si and Chrissie Lees Jones have owned the inn for more than 25 years, with day-to-day operation handled by Cheshire hospitality group Bear Inns. Sixteen bedrooms are split between the original building and a converted coaching house around the courtyard, six of them dog friendly. The Tarporley Room has hosted private parties since 1762 and now holds up to 100 guests for events. A 2020 refurbishment kept the cask ales and local sourcing, with beef, lamb and vegetables drawn from suppliers within 25 miles.
