The Tokenhouse

The Tokenhouse has traded as an independent gift shop in Nottingham since 1973, when art students Geoff and Dizz opened the original shop on Tokenhouse Yard, which gave the business its name. After a period on Bridlesmith Gate, the shop moved in 2018 to its current premises at 4-6 St Peter's Gate, a more open, step-free space. It sells cards, wrapping paper, toys, books, homeware and jewellery, including ranges from Jellycat and Emma Bridgwater, alongside smaller makers. Geoff and Dizz remain involved in the business, now joined by their daughter Holly, who handles buying. The shop operates from this single Nottingham address only, with no other branches, and marked fifty years of continuous trading in 2023.
