The WirksworthPottery Company

Hannah set up the Wirksworth Pottery Company in 2020, working from The Old Lodging House on Greenhill on the edge of the Peak District. The studio makes contemporary ceramics using slip-casting, a process that pours liquid clay into plaster moulds rather than throwing each piece on a wheel, giving consistent, thin-walled results across mugs, vases, candle holders and pet bowls. Every item still passes through hand-finishing and glazing individually, with a turnaround of up to three weeks per batch. Alongside retail, the studio runs pottery courses and one-off sessions, including a paw-print casting session where owners take an impression of their dog or cat's paw home as a keepsake. The workshop also takes bookings for hen parties and small private groups. Located at 16a Greenhill, Wirksworth, Derbyshire.
