Wirksworth Outdoors

Wirksworth Outdoors is an independent outdoor clothing and equipment shop on St John Street in Wirksworth, opened in 2013 by Geoff Slater and Amanda Revell. The shop stocks clothing, footwear and equipment for walking, cycling, running and camping, carrying brands including Patagonia, Sprayway, Meindl, Asolo and Buffalo alongside accessories from Nikwax, Lifeventure and Vango. Staff give hands-on advice on fit and choice of kit, drawing on their own experience of the routes around the town, which sits on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park. The shop is set up as a small, personally run alternative to the larger national outdoor retailers, and has built a loyal local customer base among walkers and cyclists using the White Peak trails. It remains a single shop on the edge of the market town, run directly by its founders rather than as part of any wider retail group.
