Tobermory Chocolate has traded from 57 Main Street since 1991, when Keith and Rhoda Drake began hand-dipping chocolates in an old fisherman's store behind the harbour. The business moved to its present premises, a former garage that once featured in the children's television series Balamory, in 2003. All the chocolate is still tempered and hand-dipped on site, starting from dark chocolate alone and expanding over the years to milk and white varieties, truffles, bars and novelty shapes including seafood-themed pieces reflecting the harbour setting. The shop runs a café alongside the chocolate counter and offers chocolate-making workshops for children. Orders can be placed online for delivery across the UK and into Europe, though the shop trades year round from its Main Street premises overlooking Tobermory harbour.
