Wildcroft Pottery

Lucy Hogan set up Wildcroft Pottery in the garden of her home, Wakefield, in Wildcroft Wood, Witley, in February 2022, drawing on more than 40 years of her own pottery practice. Classes are capped at six adults and focus on hand-building techniques of pinching, coiling, slab-building and sculpture, taught personally by Hogan rather than assistants, alongside wheel-throwing lessons limited to two people per session. The studio runs weekly courses during school terms, Saturday taster sessions for beginners, and holiday workshops for children, with all clay, tools and firing included in the price. A second garden studio was added in April 2026 to meet demand for throwing lessons. Hogan describes the aim as giving people a chance to step away from daily pressures and make something with their hands.
