Anderson & Hill trades from a glass-fronted unit in the Great Western Arcade, an 1875 shopping passage off Colmore Row, selling cheese and cured meat since 2010. Former chef Will Johns took over the counter and built a deli grounded in provenance, stocking English and Italian cheeses alongside charcuterie, dry goods and own-roasted coffee. A short lunch menu of soups, sandwiches and salads runs alongside the retail counter, and the shop assembles cheese displays for weddings and hampers to order. Staff cut and wrap to order and talk customers through a cheese before it leaves the counter. It supplies several Birmingham restaurants directly from the same stock the public buys, keeping the operation tightly focused on a handful of well-chosen producers rather than breadth for its own sake.
