Ceramics StudioCo-op, Deptford

Established in 2014, Ceramics Studio Co-op occupies workshop space on Childers Street in Deptford, having relocated to the current premises as the collective grew. The studio is owned and run collectively by the artists who work there, each holding an equal say in its direction rather than answering to a single proprietor. It runs twelve-week wheel-throwing courses, taster sessions and open studio memberships for adults, alongside bench space for resident makers producing and firing their own work. Kilns, glazes and wheels are shared among members rather than run as a retail pottery shop, keeping the emphasis on production and teaching. The co-operative operates from this single Deptford site, with membership open to hobbyists and professional makers alike.
