Crankhouse Coffee

Dave Stanton set up Crankhouse in 2014 — the name was his wife Becca's idea, and both are directors still — and roasted for years beneath 130 Fore Street beside the Basement 130 café, until the building was sold for redevelopment and the lease ran out in October 2025. The roastery's fourth home, since November 2025, is a unit at Skyways Business Park by Exeter Airport: production floor below, a mezzanine for quality control and training, a small brew bar for callers, and public cuppings announced as they come. Membership of the Specialty Coffee Association, World Coffee Research and 1% for the Planet frames the buying, and the coffee travels by subscription, wholesale and guest spots across the UK and Europe. The Fore Street café listings that still circulate online are stale — this is where the roasting lives now.
