Ronald Dart started a pick-your-own on the fields outside Topsham in 1971; his three sons — Paul on the working farm, Michael and James on the shop — built it into what the Farm Retail Association has named the UK's best farm shop a record four times, most recently in 2025, when the Farm Table restaurant took the best-farm-café title as well. The third generation is now in the business, George Dart driving the restaurant. The site runs from a food hall — butchery, deli, cidery, fish shed, a chocolatier — through restaurants and a terrace bar to a vineyard, wetland walks and, fifty-five years in, a three-day summer festival in June 2026. Around seventeen thousand people come through in a week. Open every day.
