The Cross Keys Inn stands on Pendre Road in Penrhynside, the small village between Llandudno and Colwyn Bay, in a building dating from the 1860s. It is a family owned and run free house, meaning it is not tied to any brewery, and its cellar carries local beers from North Wales breweries alongside guest ales from further afield. Inside, a cosy front room centres on the bar, while side and rear lounges look out toward the Bay of Colwyn. The kitchen serves a lunch menu and an evening menu Monday to Saturday, and the pub keeps traditional pub games alongside its bar. It is one of two remaining pubs in Penrhynside and trades as a single, independently run premises rather than as part of a managed or tenanted pub company estate. Regulars and passing walkers on the coastal path between Llandudno and Colwyn Bay make up much of its trade.
