Menai Upholstery

Menai Upholstery has recovered and repaired furniture since 1987, when David Wyn Jones, a City and Guilds-qualified upholsterer and cabinet maker, set up the business in Bangor before later relocating to Llanfairfechan. The workshop rebuilds webbing, springs and frames as well as fitting new fabric, and sells foam, fabric and wallpaper to customers carrying out their own repairs. Jones is a member of the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers and continues to run the business as a family concern from a single workshop off Mount Road. Work ranges from domestic sofas and dining chairs to commercial seating for local businesses, all made to order rather than stocked ready-made.
