ink. Gallery opened in February 2023 inside the former Longmans department store on Abergele Road in Colwyn Bay, founded by artists Rob Bebbington, from Llandudno Junction, and Luke Dalton, with early backing from a Start Up Loan. The venue combines gallery space showing contemporary work by Welsh and regional artists with an in-house café, TheGraffCaff, a bar and a programme of live music, film screenings and workshops. Exhibitions change regularly and the gallery also runs print services and membership schemes for local artists wanting wall space. Reviewed by CAMRA for its bar offering as well as by arts publications for its exhibition programme, the venue functions as a single independent site rather than a branch of a larger operator. It opens long hours through the week, from mid-morning until late evening, reflecting its role as both a daytime coffee stop and an evening social and events space for Colwyn Bay.
