The White LionInn Llanelian

The White Lion Inn occupies an eighteenth-century building at the crossroads of Llanelian-yn-Rhos, a hamlet above Old Colwyn on the North Wales coast. Simon and Nina Cole have run it as a free house for more than thirty years, serving home-cooked food made with Welsh produce alongside real ales and log fires. The pub won Pub of the Year at the Welsh Hospitality Awards 2025 and Gastro Pub of the Year at the Food Awards Wales 2025, and has appeared in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for more than twenty-seven years. It is a single, independently owned free house with no ties to a brewery or pub company, unlike several larger rural inns nearby.
