The mill building by Dinham Bridge earned its reputation as the Green Café under chef Clive Davis, who opened it in 2009 and won it a Michelin Bib Gourmand — for years Shropshire's only Michelin recognition. The succession ran through the kitchen: Josh Crouch cooked five years under Davis before he and his brothers — the four Crouches of CSONS, with rooms in Shrewsbury and Hereford besides — took the site on in 2018. The terrace still hangs over the weir, the cooking still follows the region's growers and the day's landings upstream of it, and the river still does most of the view. Daily till four, later on summer weekends.
