Two families of the Welsh Marches — Henry and Hannah Mackley, Lydia and Robbie Underhill — opened Harp Lane in the summer of 2014, on a Castle Square corner where a shop of one kind or another has stood since the early 1800s, named for the medieval butchers' alley behind it. The cheese counter does the heavy lifting and Henry's home-baked pastel de nata have a following of their own; the tables outside watch Ludlow's square go about its market business. No website, in the traditional manner — the counter is the publication.
