Dorman's Bar has stood on Queen Street in Magherafelt since 1905, when Joe Dorman first opened its doors. His son Desmond later took over before Dorman's daughter Teresa and her husband Henry McGlone assumed control in 1987, keeping the name and the family connection intact. A substantial refurbishment in 2014 updated the interior while preserving the bar's traditional layout. The kitchen serves classic pub fare including Sunday roasts and a burger known locally as the Dorman's Melt, alongside sharing plates built for groups. Live music runs from mid-afternoon over the Christmas period, part of a wider programme through the year. Ownership has stayed within the same family across three generations, a rare continuity for a licensed premises in a town centre that has otherwise changed considerably.
