Hedonism Wines

Hedonism Wines opened on Davies Street in 2012, built by the former mobile-phone entrepreneur Evgeny Chichvarkin into one of the largest specialist wine and spirit shops in the country, with several thousand wines and spirits held across two floors. Bottles stand upright on illuminated shelving that runs floor to ceiling, organised by region and style rather than price, and staff will pull half-bottles or verticals for browsing customers without pressure to buy. The range runs from everyday bottles to rare Burgundy, Champagne and Japanese whisky, with a tasting counter used for regular in-store events. It remains a single Mayfair shop rather than a wider retail chain, trading alongside its own online delivery service.
