Kintra Boat Tours launched in March 2020, when skipper Charles Stewart and his wife Dawn Hynes began running trips from Ballycastle's outer harbour on Bayview Road. Stewart, a qualified marine skipper with more than twenty years' experience in Irish waters, operates sightseeing trips past Rathlin Island's lighthouses and the North Coast, departing daily through the summer season. In April 2025 the business invested one and a half million pounds in Kintra II, an 82-passenger catamaran built as the North Coast's largest passenger-only vessel, replacing the smaller boats used since launch. Tours run from the pier beside the Rathlin ferry terminal, reached through a green harbour gate signposted from the ferry queue. The single-site operation is based entirely at Ballycastle harbour and does not run tours from any other port.
