Pretty Fly Workshop sits at the east end of Brook Street in Broughty Ferry, run by two graduates of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. The bench work covers the full range of a jeweller's trade: repairs, resizing, engraving, enamel work, polishing and re-plating, through to melting and recasting old gold and bespoke commissions, including engagement and wedding rings designed with the customer. Alongside the workshop, the shop stocks handmade pieces from more than fifty makers, most of them Scottish, spanning textiles, ceramics, homeware, prints, cards and children's gifts. It is a single independent premises rather than a concession or chain, open six days a week. Repairs and commissions are handled in-house rather than sent away, so customers deal directly with the people making and mending the work.
