Book Attic

The Book Attic is a second-hand bookshop on Perth Road in Dundee's West End, opened by Duncan Lindsay in July 2021. Stock is almost entirely pre-owned, spanning fiction, biography and crime, with a small selection of new titles limited to books about Dundee or written by local authors. Lindsay runs a 'blind date with a book' offer, wrapping a handful of mystery titles together for a few pounds so customers buy on a hunch rather than a cover. The shop keeps to conventional daytime hours, open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. Rather than a chain outlet with rotating stock brought in from elsewhere, the shop's shelves are built from what Lindsay sources locally, giving it a changing inventory that repeat customers browse through more than once a month.
