The Royal Arch sits on Brook Street beside Broughty Ferry railway station, a locally owned bar and bistro at the centre of the Ferry. Sold in early 2025 to new proprietor John Black, the pub has kept its cask ale tradition, typically pouring two real ales by handpull, often from nearby MòR Beers alongside changing guest beers from across Britain. CAMRA members get a discount on cask ales. The Art Deco lounge, fitted into former stables, retains stained-glass windows and a salvaged gantry bar rescued in the 1970s from the demolished Craigour Bar elsewhere in Dundee. Food is served alongside the ale, and the pub is a fixture on Tayside CAMRA's real ale guide. It remains a genuine community local rather than a themed chain outlet.
