Three former staff of Groucho's opened Thirteen Records on Union Street after Groucho's, Dundee's long-running record shop, closed for good in 2020. Between them the co-owners bring more than 70 years of experience selling records in the city, and modelled the new shop's fit-out on Big Star, a store they admired. The shelves hold new and secondhand vinyl alongside CDs, with fresh stock arriving through the week across genres from soul and post-punk to hip-hop and Scottish indie. The shop sits a short walk from Groucho's old Nethergate site and is run day to day by its three owners, who order and price every record themselves rather than through a head office.
