Saxon Villa

Saxon Villa is a bed and breakfast in a detached Victorian house on Thorpe Lane in Fylingthorpe, a village adjoining Robin Hood's Bay, built in 1893 in a raised position overlooking the bay and open countryside toward the coast. Des and Heather run the property, which they refurbished between August and December 2011, combining original Victorian features such as fireplaces and high ceilings with contemporary bathrooms and furnishings. Local artists' work is displayed throughout the bedrooms and communal areas. Breakfast uses free-range and organic ingredients sourced locally where possible, served alongside views over the surrounding fields. The house has private parking and a secure covered area for bicycles and motorcycles, reflecting its position on the coastal and moors cycling and walking routes. It operates as a single, family-run guest house rather than part of any hotel group.
