In January 1999 Michael Smith left his job as chef and lecturer at Motherwell College to open this French-style restaurant in his home town of Uddingston, on Main Street next to the train station. Elegant but rustic in the bistro and brasserie manner, with quiet colours, wood textures and soft mood lighting. Scottish ingredients, dishes kept simple. Closed Mondays; lunch two courses £22, three £27, rising to £28 and £34 evenings and weekends.
