Storytellers, Inc. opened on The Crescent in St Annes on Sea in November 2010, run by mother and daughter Carolyn and Katie Clapham. The shop was built around children's books and still centres on that stock, though adult fiction and non-fiction have since found space on the shelves alongside toys, cards and gift wrap. A single-copy policy keeps the range wide rather than deep, so the Claphams stock more titles rather than duplicate bestsellers. Four in-store book clubs run monthly for younger readers, alongside a separate Crossover Bookclub aimed at adults, and the shop prints its own illustrator calendar locally each year as part of an ongoing programme highlighting different children's illustrators. Local schools can access a discounted Schools package for bulk orders. The Crescent location sits close to St Annes railway station, within easy reach of the seafront.
