The Crooked Man opened in 2017 in a converted Victorian building on Fairfax Road that had previously housed Prestwich's Citizens Advice Bureau. The single-room bar keeps a rotating selection of keg and cask ales alongside wine, spirits and cocktails, and hosts a Wednesday quiz night, weekend DJs and occasional food pop-ups. Local artists' work is displayed on the walls throughout the building, and a small yard at the rear provides outdoor seating. The bar trades as one site in Prestwich village, run independently rather than as part of a wider pub company, and CAMRA lists it among the borough's notable conversions of a non-pub building into a real ale bar. It sits just off Longfield Centre, within walking distance of the shops on Bury New Road.
