The Plough Inn has stood on Main Street in Fulford for more than three hundred years, working first as a coaching inn before becoming the neighbourhood pub it is today. The current team took over the business in 2004 and has kept it independent, resisting any move into a managed pub group. Six en-suite bedrooms sit above the bar for overnight guests, while the kitchen serves home-cooked meals made to order, including a Sunday roast, alongside hand-pulled real ales and a list of wines and spirits. The pub sponsors local causes including Dogs Trust and Cats Protection, and runs a Monday night quiz at nine o'clock with proceeds going to the Dogs Trust. It sits within walking distance of the Fulford Road shops, a short run from the city centre.
