The Princeof Wales

The Prince of Wales sits on Bynner Street in Shrewsbury's Belle Vue, a two-roomed back-street local once tied to Border Ales of Wrexham before that brewery's closure freed it; it now trades as an independent freehouse on its own freehold. Ten hand pumps carry a changing range built around local breweries — Salopian, Three Tuns and Hobsons among them — with a mild always on and real cider from Hunt's alongside. A decked garden looks over the pub's own crown green bowling green, available for hire, and the house has taken the Shrewsbury & West Shropshire CAMRA Pub of the Year title eight years running, with a place in the Good Beer Guide for more than fifteen years.
